Speakers
Kathryn Cearns: is a Chartered Accountant who trained in audit with EY. She is a specialist in financial reporting, auditing and corporate governance, including the reporting and auditing aspects of company law. For 11 years Kathryn was a partner in an international law firm where she was also the accounting adviser to the Chair of the Auditing Practices Board. Prior to that she was a Project Director at the Accounting Standards Board. Kathryn chaired the ICAEW Financial Reporting Committee for 10 years and in 2016 stepped down from six years of chairing the Financial Reporting Advisory Board to HM Treasury on public sector reporting.
Kathryn now works predominantly as a non-executive director and among other appointments chairs the audit and risk committees at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and National Highways, and she is a board member at the UK Accounting Standards Endorsement Board. She was previously on the External Audit Committee of the IMF and a Non-executive board member at the UK Supreme Court.
Kyle Gibbons: is the Head of Global Accounts at Confirmation, Thomson Reuters. Kyle previously trained as an auditor at Grant Thornton and is a regular speaker on the topics of technology and fraud risk across accounting and finance.
